People are divided over whether they like the wife of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, with 30 percent seeing her favorably and 35 percent unfavorably

Even though 8 in 10 Blacks view Michelle favorably most Whites believe that drug addict, recipie stealing, bilionairess Cindy McCain is the “ideal” First Lady. The money quote:

Cindy seems like she’s laid back and not trying to run her husband,” said Linda Kaiser, 60, a Republican and church secretary from Clairton, Pa. “It’s nice to have a brain, but they should let their husband be president.

Right.

In energy news: Gas prices are still a BITCH and will likely get even bitchier as oil closed at just under $144 a barrel Wednesday…ouch. And as the price of oil goes up, the desire for energy conservation goes down…among Americans at least. In a Pew research center poll released today:

• 50% now support drilling in ANWR, up from 42%.
• 47% rate energy exploration as more important that conservation, up from 35%.

And what about those pesky, environment loving liberals? Well 45% of them want to drill, drill, drill, up from 22% in February. Wow, seems like American’s can’t take the pain at the pump. Well, seems to me like folk should have been pushing for public transportation and not moving out to far flung exburubs. I’m sorry to disappoint my American brethren…no amount of drilling is bringing oil prices down. You better tell all those folks in China and India to stay on their bikes and rickshaws ’cause that’s the only way oil prices are coming down.

On a happier and gas free note, 15 hostages, 3 of whom were American, were freed in Colombia today after 6 years in captivity, in a daring rescue operation conducted by the Colombian government. And guess who was there to greet them? Why no other than our favorite former hostage turned republican presidential candidate, John McCain. Can we say photo - op anyone?

I don’t know though? Is it safe to remind the voting public that you were held hostage for five years by the Viet Cong, receive disability from the military ’cause of your trauma and are likely batshit crazy from your hostage experience? Well, he is a white afterall…so anything is possible.

And on a final note…why is Obama dancing to the right? As a matter of fact if he gets any righter I’m gonna start to believe he’s light skinned version of JC Watts…okay he’s not that bad…yet…but you get my point. First Fisa, then Guns and now Bush’s Faith Based Initiatives program? What is he trying to be — Bush-lite? Is he trying to out-right John McCain? What? Note to Senator Obama: How well did that work for John Kerry? And one more thing: Those good, god-fearing, gun toting, hard working, Christian Americans you’re going after…well…they ain’t going to vote for your Black ass no way.
