The Stock Market Goes Down the Rabbit Hole, Jesse Gets Crude, and the Senate Continues to Suck Bush’s Dick

Stocks tumble, even as oil is almost $10 dollars off its pre-July 4th high. The major indexes are all off more than 2% and the uneasiness the market is feeling about the financial services sector isn’t expected to get better anytime soon. From AOL:
With dismal bank and lender earnings expected in the coming weeks, investors were unable to keep buying a day after stocks, including financials, had logged sharp gains. Investors are bracing for financial companies to take another series of major credit-related write-downs, but the uncertainty about how large they’ll be is weighing on the market, said Scott Wren, senior equity strategist at Wachovia Securities.
But the really fun news of the day comes from the Rev. Jesse Jackson’s really off color re-marks regarding Senator Obama and how he addresses Black audiences. Oh we got the video for this one:
Oooohh, a Rev. talking about cutting someone’s nuts off. Nice. You think, however, if the Catholic church had similar sentiments about their wayward priests they would have been spared many of the issues they’ve had in recent years. I’m just sayin’.
You know the hammer fell hard on Old Jesse (even his son got in on the fun) and he has since issued an apology:
The Rev. Jesse Jackson apologized Wednesday to Barack Obama for making a “regretfully crude” comment about the Democratic presidential hopeful during what he thought was a private conversation three days ago.
Jackson said the “hurtful and wrong” comments Sunday came in response to a question from a fellow guest during a break from taping “Fox & Friends.” The guest asked about speeches on morality Obama has given at black churches.
Ahh Jesse, we know you meant it. And to be honest, we’re right there with you. In other news worthy of nut slicing, the senate passed the President’s FISA legislation that included telecom immunity. From Huffington Post:
Bowing to President Bush’s demands, the Senate sent the White House a bill Wednesday overhauling bitterly disputed rules on secret government eavesdropping and shielding telecommunications companies from lawsuits complaining they helped the U.S. spy on Americans.
Yeah for the democratic senate standing up to the lameduck president with the approval ratings so low they haven’t been seen since Nixon’s lying cheating ass. Why to we have elected officials again? “Cause these cats are definitely not acting on the will of the people.
